What: If the answer to any question is yes, call 911 and tell them when your symptoms started.
Stroke treatment is counted in minutes. Calling the doctor or going to the hospital is a waste of time. Emergency personnel can quickly diagnose your condition and treat you as soon as possible.
The type of stroke will determine whether doctors recommend blood thinners or aspirin. Take this medication no later than three hours after the beginning of symptoms for optimal effects. Physicians will attempt to halt the bleeding as soon as possible if it is the cause of the stroke.
